1. Why is the platypus genome so important? BECAUSE IT PUTS TOGATHER THE PIECES OF ACIENT MAMMALS WHEN ALL MAMMALS LAID EGGS BUT STILL FED MILK TO THIER YOUNG

1. It is the missing link in our understanding of how we and other mammals first evolved.
2.It produces milk and is covered in a thick fur.
3.The females lay eggs and the males secret a venom like a snake.
4.I think it is classified in the order Monotremata, but that is the one question that i wasn't sure about????

The platypus looks like an animal made up from parts of different animals. It is said that the platypus broke off from its human ancestors about 170 million years ago. I did not know that the males had venom they could use like a snake. The platypus seems to be a missing link between us and other mammals and how we evolved

they are made up of a type of chemical makeup to breed more off spring...exp.for them to be able to take care of their young.the male is able to produce venom to protect themselves and their young.
