The Atom Smasher

Click the title above to read about why the atom smasher had to be shut down. Answer the following questions about the questionable piece of technology.

What caused the malfunction of the atom smasher?
Why hasn't the inventor been able to examine the damages?
What will these collisions help physicists understand?

What caused the malfunction of the atom smasher?
They think a poor job in soldering connecgtions.

Why hasn't the inventor been able to examine the damages?
because it's too cold to be opened.

What will these collisions help physicists understand?
maybe how the universe was formed.

a large hole was formed in one of the collider's 10,000 tubes causing a leak of helium used to cool the tube. scientists haven't been able to fix the leak because the tube is too cold to be opened. the collider will help scientists learn more about the "big bang" theory. the theory of how the universe was made.

it is the worlds largest atom smasher!!!!

What caused the malfunction was a bad electrical connection. The inventory hasn't been able to check the damages because the collider is to cold to be opened. These collisions will help physicists better understandho the smallest bit of matter and how everthing and everyone is made. It is also a hope to take them closer to the "Big Bang."

A bad electrical connection was a likely cause to the malfunction. the inventer hasnt been able to examine the problem because the collider is too cold. these collisions help scientists to better understand how the tiniest bits of matter, everything and everyone, were made.

I wonder whonder why they want to know about the Big Bang?
Maybe so they know more about the univere.

A bad electrical connection.l

Why hasn't the inventor been able to examine the damages?
Because the collider is too cold to be opened.

A bad soldering job caused the malfunction. It's too cold to open so the inventor can't look at it. Collisions help physicists understand how everything came to be.

What caused the malfunction of the atom smasher?
-falty electrical connection

Why hasn't the inventor been able to examine the damages?
-The atom smasher works in extremely cold tempatures so before the mishap the machine was too cold for humans to work on it and will take a while for it to warm to working conditions.

What will these collisions help physicists understand?
-All the experiments that will come from this invention will help scientists understand more about what the smallest forms of matter are made up of and how the universe was made, too.

Bad ellectrical connections caused malfunction. They haven't been able to see the problem because the tube is too cold. It may help learn more about big bang theory.
