Are there other Earthlike planets out there? 3

What is one technique used to find these planets?
to look through a telescope and see if the planet has a wobbling orbit.

What is the habitable zone? a planet that can have life.

1. yes

2. a) radial velocity method- astronpmers look for slight wobbles in a star's motion due to the gravitational tug of an orbiting planet. used to see massive planets
b) transit method- astonomers watch for dimming light when a planet passes in front of its host star. works when telescopes scanthe light fom 100s or 1000s of stars

3.habitable zone- defines the distance at which a planet must orbit from its star for liquid water to exist on its surface

There is possibility that in about 4 or 5 years we will see a planet that is very similar to being earths twin. There are 2 techniques to spot these planets. one, is the radial velocity method, which due to the gravitational pull of planets, causes the star to be unbalanced or wobble. The second is the transit method wich they use to see a dimming of the the stars light because a planet is orbiting around it blocking the light. the habital zone is the distance from the star and the planet that determines whether there can be water on the planet. Not too hot like venus but too cold like pluto and neptune.

i know that Earth is the third planet from the sun.I know that Mercury is the hottest planet from the sun.I know that pluto is not a planet any more because it is to small.

There are three other Earth-like planets. The radial velocity method is one way these planets are found. Astronomers look for a slight wobble in the star's motion. For a planet to be considered to be in a habitable zone, it able to hold liquid water on the surface. It can't be too hot or too cold.

Are there other Earthlike planets out there?
-Yes, finding three earth like planets proves that there could be one, if not more, earths roaming arround another star.

What is one technique used to find these planets?
-When scientists search for a small twitch of when a planets gravitational pull tugs on its host star.

What is the habitable zone?
-How far away from a star a planet must travel for there to be liquid water.

There are 3 other earth-like planets. A technique used to find these planets is radial velocity method, in which a telescope to see if there has been any wobbling of the stars. Habitable zone is the distance from a star to the planet that determines if there is water on the planet.

There are other planets that could be like earth out there. One way is to look at a sun and see if any eclipses happen suggesting something revolving it. Is the zone a planet must be from it's sun to be able to hold life.
