Autumnal Equinox
Click on the link above to read about the fall equinox. For those of you who have had me in the past, this is the day where you can perform the egg experiment. For those of you who are new to the world of Ms. Maxwell, on the day of an equinox, a room temperature egg can stand on its end. For your comment to this blog, please post why it is possible for an egg to do this on an equinox.

hey smax
on this day you can ballance a egg because the world is not on it's axis meaning the world is not leaning and evenly ballanced.

This is because "...the Sun crosses the equator, and the day and night are of approximately equal length." Since this is happening the force is equal so there is not more pull on one side than another. In result the forces are equally balanced. So now the egg can stand on one end without toppling over.
On sept 22 the sun crosses the equator and the days and nights are about the same lengh . So this marks the beginning of Autom. Kelly Williams 6th hour
i can not do that because i do not know how to balance an egg.
from dylan wilkinson!!!!!!!!
You can balence an egg because everything is equal. The day and night are the same lengths because the sun passes the equator at the right time. So i guess that would be why you can balance the egg.

The way the earth is tilted at a certain angle on that day allows you to balance an egg.

1st period
the sun is above the equator.
On the day of the equinox, the earth is not tilted one way or the other enabling you to balance on egg.
on the Auttumnal Equinox the earth is not tilted, so you can balance an egg.
On the autumnal equinox night and day are equal. Therefor the tug on each side is the same and the egg could balance.
